We're seeking a Driver Helper to join our client's team in the waste management industry in Brampton. As a Driver Helper you'll help the Route Driver and assist in the collection of waste and/or recyclable material. 
 
What We Offer:
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Pay Rate: $18/hr + 4% vacation pay
  • End Date – Ongoing Assignment
  • Shift: Monday – Friday, 5 AM – 5 PM
  • Location: Brampton Ontario

What You’ll Do:
  • Immediately report unsafe situations or service-related issues to the Route Manager or Dispatch.
  • Manually or mechanically load and empty residential and/or commercial containers into the truck. Containers may be staged curbside, dockside, carryout, or require pullout to complete service.
  • Operate hoisting device to lift and empty bins or containers into truck hopper.
  • Assist driver with all backing maneuvers while on route. 
  • Notify Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage.
  • Notify Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions, including closed or impassable streets or alleyways, receptacles too heavy to service, or potential safety hazards.
  • Communicate customer requests to Dispatch or Route Manager.
  • Perform all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch and assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs. 

What We’re Looking For: 
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Strong motor coordination, including arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.
  • Able to exert physical effort in handling objects pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 70 lbs. 
  • Comfortable working outdoors and/or riding in a video/GPS monitored vehicle. 
  • Comfortable being exposed to dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements most of the workday.
  • PPE – steel-toe safety footwear, glasses, gloves and vest are mandatory.
